Humane Education

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged

by the way its animals are treated. (Mahatma Gandhi)

Humane education is about learning to respect life in our homes, communities and the environment. It encourages kindness and empathy for both human and nonhuman animals, and promotes understanding of our many diverse habitats. Most importantly, humane education strives to establish a sense of responsibility, making the world a better, more humane place. The ARL/SRI is dedicated to educating the community about safe and humane animal treatment. Our education programs are an essential part of promoting kindness toward animals and breaking the cycle of violence. We offer a variety of interesting and educational programming for people and companion animals of all ages.

Volunteers are welcome to assist educators in the after school, library, or preschool classes or could be trained to present programs. Opportunities within schools and the community exist for volunteers & their certified canines. Please call 792-2233 to learn more.
