How do I introduce a new animal into my home?

Slow introductions are key. Try rubbing a towel on each animal to get their scent on it, and then switch the towels so the animals get used to each other's scents. Keep in mind that it takes time for animals to get used to each other.

How do I housebreak a puppy?

Try using a crate for your animal when you are not home. Make sure the crate isn't too large so the puppy won't use the bathroom. Try getting the animal on a

schedule and take it out as much as possible. If you do catch the puppy having an accident, interrupt and take it out as quickly as possible. Always give lots of

praise and positive reinforcement for going outside.

My cat is having litter box issues, what do I do?

First take the animal to the vet to rule out any medical issues. Then try putting the cat in a bathroom or smaller spare bedroom with its litter box and

food/water. This will help the cat realize where the litter box is and hopefully has no choice but to use it. Also, try changing the type of litter being used. Cats

tend not to like the crystal or scented litters. If it is an indoor only cat, it may want to go outside.

My dog seems to be protective over the food bowl, now what?

Try feeding the dog on a cookie sheet, which should help slow it down. Or feed its meal in a food toy, like a Kong, so the animal has to work to get the food.

Also, try hand feeding the dog.
