After School Programs

Kindness, compassion, respect and responsibility — are these qualities that you’d like your students to possess? Join us for interactive and informative programs that teach these qualities while relating them to the companion animals in our lives. Through stories, games, role-playing and discussion, students consider what these qualities mean and how they can incorporate them into their lives.

After school programs for elementary age children are six weeks in length and are currently offered in the fall and the spring.

Spring 2008: Completely Canine

Did you know that the American Kennel Club recognizes 157 distinctive breeds of dogs? In this class, you’ll learn all sorts of interesting facts about dogs and their personalities. We’ll play games, read stories, do crafts, share recipes, & more. If you are canine crazy, this class is for you!

Fall 2007: Pets and the Holidays

Let’s celebrate! Each week your “pet” (stuffed animal) will enjoy a new activity such as having a birthday party or making a lovable Valentine present. They’ll be lots of crafts for your stuffed pet (with instructions for how a real pet can enjoy them too). Stories each week, and tips for how to keep your real pet safe and happy during the holidays. (note: stuffed pets should be about the size of a Webkins to take part in the program, and only one stuffed animal per child, please)
