Baby Ready Pets; A Free Workshop for Expectant Parents

The Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island in collaboration with South County Hospital is proud to present a FREE monthly workshop to expectant parents and their families!  This workshop helps to prepare your pet for the arrival of your new bundle of joy.  With a little training and assistance, you can make it a safe and (relatively) stress-free experience for the whole family.  We are here to help!

**Space is limited!  Please call the ARLSRI to register at 360-8009 or email tammyarl@verizon.net

Misty’s Story

Misty is a senior girl that we are estimating to be about 14-15 years old. She was left in a carrier at our shelter gate. She has such a sweet temperament and is an absolute beauty. She was more then likely in the same home for years and is shocked and sad to find herself here. Misty doesn’t ask for much, just a home that she can live out her golden years in and where she will feel unconditional love outside a cage in a shelter. She has been to a vet and found to be in excellent health. Please make Misty’s story have a happy ending this holiday season!                             (Posted 12/15/11)

Rocky Update! December 6th

It has been 4 weeks since Rocky’s surgery and he had his stitches taken out at the vet last week. Actually, he took most of them out himself already! He is doing wonderfully, jumping on and off the bed of his new owner and running up and down the steps. Clearly he is much happier and he just wants to say thank you!

Thank you for your financial support in helping get Rocky his surgery and also for your concern and kind words. Santa came early for Rocky this year!

Johnny’s Barkin’ Bakery Adoption Event

It’s that time again!

Once a month the ARLSRI is invited to bring  dogs to Johnny’s Barkin’ Bakery for the day to promote the importance of adopting from local shelters. The owner, Alex, supports us by not only inviting us into her shop, but  by giving a $100 store gift certificate with each adoption and donating 10% of the sales that day to the ARL! After only 2 events, we have found new forever homes for 10 dogs!!!

Join us this Saturday, December 10th from 10am until 2pm for this great event. Johnny’s is located in South County Commons, off of Rt. 1 in South Kingstown.

Jennifer joins the ARLSRI team after having served the past 4 years as both a board member and a volunteer of a local animal organization (Pet Refuge in North Kingstown). Jennifer is very excited to be able to fulfill her life long passion to be able to work full-time in animal welfare and to care for homeless animals.

Jennifer has over 14 years of sales and management experience. She is looking forward to combining her corporate business background with her experience in animal welfare, thus bringing about positive changes for ARLSRI, while supporting the mission and vision currently in place.
